I had the same idea, but there were loads of TT bikes at the 94.7...

I saw a few bikes with TT handle bars. Not sure how they made in but clearly the referees did not know. I also saw how dangerous it can be to ride with TT bars in a race like 94.7. NOT a good idea.

OMGosh...weather sucked today so went for 1st swim since Oct 2012 this arvie.... 1km / 30 minutes...stopped every 4 or 5 lengths (25m pool)...

Long road (lane) ahead

I do at least 2 swims a week minimum 1500m a session summer, winter whatever. Its the only way to stay in shape.

Has anyone tried yoga for stretching after being on the bike quite a lot? I tried Anti-Gravity Yoga yesterday and seemed to walk off feeling more tender than before  .

Are there any long term benefits of Yoga and Pilates?

Any stretching and core work is really good for you. I found Yoga just took too long, too much time spent breathing and saying ommm and stuff. Pilates was better for me and is great for a core workout. Now I just spend some time on a foam roller, do 30 mins of stretching a couple of times a week and have a specific 45 min core workout that I do once weekly.

I think I'm going to give it a few weeks till January to decide whether or not it's for me. I did try the Gravity Pilates and that seems to give me quite a full-body work out. I'm not so good with doing things on my own at home so it's best that I go to a class

I keep saying to myself..."myself you need to go swim at least once a week".....the next minute I check my training log and its 12 months ago since I last did that.

I agree, I did my first ironman this year and dont come from a backround in any of the sports, especially running! training for ironman 2013 My longest run was 29km and before that it was 21km. during ironman i did my first marathon and found it quite easy in 4 hours.. think consistancy in the run training was the key, rather than distance.. I used that free 36 week ironman training program off the net..

What training programme? Pls post for me

...core work is really good for you...

You only realise how important core strength is once you pick up an injury.

I thought my core was pretty good. Now I know this is the one place all triathletes should focus on more...

I'm doing jailbreak the short one. Its my first triathlon. Anyone know what the course is like? Route maps on the website don't say anything about the profile and I've never been there before. Is it quite flat?
