patches Posted November 29, 2013 Share Can anyone enter the World Champs or do you need to qualify for an entry? In masters there are no UCI points needed to race worl champs. Elites need a certain amount of UCI points. Not sure about juniors. I see SA is hosting round 1 of the Wold Champs next year.5-6 April. That's world cup. World Cup and world Champs are different. World Champs is only once a year (usually towards the end of the season). It's a winner takes all kinda event. World Cup on the other hand is a series of races. There is a points log and leader board. Most points wins. But yes, first round of world cup is in PMB next year Edited November 29, 2013 by patches Hennie VR and Danger Dassie

To add to that, Greg Minnaar is DH world champ but Stevie Smith is the world cup overall winner. Hennie VR
Super_mil Posted November 29, 2013 Share Cool vid! I met William (through Diteboho, I was at school with him) while cruising around the Cascades venue after the race. Both cool guys, both psyched on cycling!
Hennie VR Posted November 29, 2013 Share I see what you did there! I have honestly never heard of William or any of his achievements before. That is why I asked if anyone can enter.I see he rides a Specialized bike as well. I can't imagine that anyone that lives in Diepsloot x6 can afford such a bike thus he must be a sponsored rider and to get a sponsor and represent your country you need to perform right? Guest Omega Man Posted November 30, 2013 Share I have honestly never heard of William or any of his achievements before. That is why I asked if anyone can enter. You need a certain number of UCI points (I think the number is 20) to enter a World Cup race. You accumulate points by placing in feeder races such as National Series and National Champs races.
