Was up in Dullstroom last weekend for some riding and it was very very muddy. That nice red mud that just sucks your wheel and brings you to a grinding stop. That's the district road though, out Kruisfontein way. Railway line section was fast but had some seriously large puddles. Saw some snakes on that section too. If it has not rained anymore - you should be good to go! Lube lots and some.

Man oh man that was fun. A little muddy but awesome course - Forrest, rocks, winding single track, climbs - we had it all. Organisation was flawless and course marking was perfect.

10 outta 10 from me. Free beer at the end was a bonus!

...water at the tables on the marathon seemed to be a problem for the back markers.....really enjoyed some of the streams to wash the bike and cool down. Had a great time out.

Shambles - I won't be back. Registration wasnt ready when we got there at 5. Paid for socks, never got them. No water or anything else to drink at WP3, told they were on their way to fetch water from river. Sat behind shorter distances for 8km in single track. See you at Barberton next year. Not Advendurances finest hour.

Plenty mud. Tough course. Water was a problem. I was in C batch and water point 2 and 3 had no water. Point 2 only had coke.

As far the guy with a sick sense of humour. Park cars miles away at the top of a steep hill !!! Ride up that after a hard race :-(

Wasnt there protests or appeals cause Charles was sent the wrong way right at the finish?

Seems nothing came from the appeal

"@CharlesKeey: @JeroenSwart negative... admitted they were wrong but won't do anything about it. At least I know form on track."

My sentiments exactly. I cannot fathom what thinking there is behind having 3 races converge on slightly technical tight single track at the finish of a race?! The ultra guys are on a different pace, the marathon guys are racing for a finish and the half-marathon guys (mostly) have neither the speed nor the skills to negotiate the single track at any kind of speed. It's unfair on every rider.

As for running out of water on the last water point when the B guys were coming through! That is unforgiveable and had the potential to end really badly for someone.

And lastly they cannot get the distance of altitude right. FFS guys; ride the course with more than one GPS, compare distance, do an elevation correction, then compare elevation gain. Take an average and publish that. NOT rocket science guys.

I bet the Barberton guys are thinking to themselves = we told you so.

No water at waterpoints, no medal at finish (Sorry the guys that donated also took medals) no drinks (I had one of the last waters and was faaaaaaar from the back) no no no .... need some work. Maybe the break was too long since the last race?
