I'm sticking a bluto on my fatbike, comes in 100 or 120mm travel, what would you guys go for?

I have 100. I wonder whether a mere mortal will ever use 120 considering the tyres give you some undamped absorption too.

What bike is it going on? Whats the bikes geometry?

I'd say if you want racey go with 100mm. If you want a fun trail machine 120mm.

Me after the Argus MTB race yesterday, I only did the 38km and managed a 15th place on the Fatty, but it was hard work!!

Some of the 55km riders were pissed off being passed by a Fat bike on some of the steep climbs!

I honestly don't see the need for a shock, I was riding my tires hard yesterday, front was 0,7 bar and back was 0,8 bar and still I had enough grip at the back and suspension at the front.

Hey Fatbikers, I just done a lekker trip Pomene to Bilene (not) on a fattie with my twin brother. See latest Ride Mag article and Complete Flyfisherman Mag. I am busy planning some routes in KZN beaches obviously and in and around Ponta in mozam. Who would be interested in doing some trips.

Myself and partner also own and manage Jozi2kozi  so we have all infrastructure to set up trips?

Send me an email to andy@jozi2kozi.co.za  or call me 0825475554 to chat. Am looking at setting some dates in Late April and then in June again. I am also buying some bikes to hire out if okes don't have their own.

cheers

Andy

Andy, show that belt drive of yours.

It gave me great pleasure putting her together with the Gates components .

Sorry but what does "29er wheels for Fatbikes" mean? 29er wheels would fit most (probably all) fatbikes anyway considering that a fat tyre on a 26" rim is around 28.75" in diameter. So near as dammit to 29".

Or are you referring to 29er+?

Whether fitting 29" wheels on a fatbike would give you "racing snake" I'm not so sure.

Fatbikes use a larger hub sizing 135mm up front and 170-190mm at back (depends on brand) so these are 29er rims built on Fatbike hubs
