Guys, that part of the country only gets rain between 11 - 15 Aug, it can still get pretty wet!

I agree 2012 we had many water crossing, 2013 was dry so lets wait and see nearer to the eevent what the weather will be like.

Anyone got a teammate that is dropping out and want to sell their entry? I am looking for an entry as i need to reconfigure my teal but an need an existing entry from someone that is not going to ride.

You can not buy only one entry, you can only replace the existing team mate who is not able to compete.

Hi Dick, I might have a team entry that is up for sale. Are you still interested? Friends of mine got sick, shame. Pop me an SMS on 0849000094 and I'll put you in touch with them.

Just confirm with the organizers if you are still able to do it.

My prediction...very dry. Probably similar to 2010.

Got the same feeling yesterday. But anything can happen. Don't mind water on the route, as long as it's not falling on me from above

Had a bad training weekend. Got sick last week Monday and was on antibiotics. Did a XCO race on Saturday and the lungs could not keep up with the legs. My gat gesien op lap die laaste twee laps.

Yesterday I went for a solo 88km ride and the wind nailed me the last 44km as I rode straight into it. To make matters worse, I struggled with tired legs and lungs and a front tire and rear tire that somehow picked up 60+ thorns per tire and had to stop every now and again to let the little sealant left do it's work.

I am so confused at this stage and not sure to still do this event, struggling to do a 72km on Saturday....... i am comparing my previous training logs for the TB to the present ..........and the big difference is that i had more structured session on the IDT than previously where i just went out riding BUT i am battling big time !!!! Any advice............??

They might be getting a little bit of rain this week but should be dry still. And I reckon it will be cold again...

Might just be that the antibiotics broke you down a bit too much and the XCO with the short and sharp efforts took its toll. The wind was quite strong yesterday, similar to Saturday. I rode from Bloem to Smithfield on Saturday and had the wind at my back most of the time. No real climbing (a shade under 1000m) but some lekker distance and time in the saddle - 167km.

You'll be fine. Ride from checkpoint to checkpoint and go slower than you think you should over the 1st 100. Eat plenty and see it as a chilled adventure ride through the Kloof with some mates and ENJOY!!
