I purchased a bike and when I got home and opened the box a note stated that the seat is sold separately.

We'll no this did not happen really. What did happen really is that I bought the enemy (the wife) a Kindle FIre HD and when she opened the box there was no charger. A note stated that the charger is sold separately. Come on Amazon, what a load of crap and a rip off. A rip off because I had to buy this at an additional R500!!!

They say you can use a blackberry adapter but I like to charge the device with its intended charger.

It's like selling a bicycle without a seat isn't it?

No. It is not like selling a bike without a seat.

Why not just use the BB charger? Or any suitable usb cable and a laptop or pc?

Seems like far too much to get excited about.

Doesn't it charge via USB?

And it probably has a usb cable in the box.

@OP, why would you want to create more waste? All these extra chargers and crap simply add to the carbon and other crap we pump out to kill the planet.

Yip a USB that must be plugged into a Kindle charger, can charge via a computer but apparently it charges so much faster. Point is the charger is normally included when a new electronic gizmo is sold.

Almost all gizmos charge via a USB port now, a standard USB port on a PC or laptop can only supply milli Amps, which makes charging slow, but there are mains/car adapters that supply a higher charging current to a USB port in the order of Amps, they are generic and can be found at most places that retail electronic goods.

13.5 hours via a USB plugged into a computer versus 4 hours via a kindle charger.

Use your BB charger. You'll get the same result as the R200.00 Kindle charger.

Or just use any other charger with the correct usb connector. Like a Samsung/BB/generic. Even if it supplies higher Amps than the device needs, it wont hurt it. It just draws what it needs and ignores the over.

Which begs the question, why don't multiple adapters include USB ports nowadays?

without a saddle.. that's actually very interesting, because does the shipped product constitute a complete bicycle or not, and by extension, is the full customs charges applicable or not?

hmmm

Not such a rip off. The kindle fire is sold by Amazon at about $10.00 less than the cost of making it. This is because the know that throughout its life you are going to buy books and stuff from them.

I just use my laptop charger which has two USB charging ports for charging my kindle.
