Hi there,

We own a restaurant outside Stellenbosch in the Western Cape called Weltevreden Estate. We could not help noticing the hordes of cyclists going by the estate on the R304 rd over the weekends.

I was wondering if these enthusiasts might be interested to share with us their favourite hot-spots to stop for breakfast along the road?

We would be more than willing to make it worthwhile (by way of dedicated specials) for these people to visit our establishment.

Feel free to post here and perhaps stop by our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/WeltevredenEstate

Regards

Team Weltevreden

Vida Café or Mugg & Bean in Stellies.

Also the last Farm on the right hand side just before the N1 (Joostenberg race starts there) For the death of me, I cannot recall the name now.

If you are running specials on Sundays, me and the missus will be there! (It is one of my carrots to get her out with me... --> breakfast, especially so if it is an omelette-to-die-for, or a milkshake, if later in the morning)

Key criteria to attract cyclists:

Quick, sharp service before their legs cool down

Quality coffee that will boost performance

Small simple healthy meals (protein based) to recover efforts on the bike

Safe and scratch-free parking spot for their machines.

Shade to cool down.

If you can give good bottomless coffee like Java cafe at a good price, then you will always attract cyclist. and having good looking students (female) walk by will DEFINATELY help.

I'd really like to see some spots that have trained bike washers ( eye candy = double win)

Thanks guys,

This has been most helpful.

Bottomless, quality coffee; quick service; health brekkies; gourmet omelets to die for and ample space for the bikes...

I think we can more than manage this!!

Would it be helpful to post a few specials on this forum??

Thanks in advance

It all depends on where we are going and fitting the stop in midway-ish. But you could convince the bellville/brackenfell or paarl/wellington, maybe even the strand somerset west crowd to stop off there with a bit of an intro.
