Was at Sportmans warehouse and browsed the special table, saw one of those power bracelets marhed down from R100 to R50 to R10, hilarious, walked by. Then got a packet of rim tape looked nice, 2 rolls, R4,95, bought it, got home looked at the slip and it read rim tape 26, doh, I have a 29er.

Lucky not an expensive error.

Apart from my bole glasses being a bad buy, i can now add to the list. A chain cleaner! The plastic ones with the brushes inside.... This thing simply smears the dirt all over and doesn't clean jack sh...t

Kranswurm; can't agree more about those First Ascent baggies although luckily I got them as a present but they gave new meaning to the phrase "trying to rip me a new one".

Now if I want to wear baggies it's baggies over normal bib or lycra shorts.

+1, what a POS! I will never buy another Polar.

I have used a Polar CS300 for over 6 years now, both on road and MTB. They are particularly susceptible to external electro magnetic influence( Train lines, Power lines etc)

You have to mount the magnet and transmitter as close as possible to the receiver.

Baby potatoes, cooked, salted, wrapped in foil. Pocket friendly. Tastes a far side better than any Gels of any kind, and is probably more beneficial on long rides.

You forgot the Garlic!

Troy Lee Designs you can get online. check on Bid Or Buy. better priecs than getting them from the states. our exchange rate killed that.

I read elsewhere in the forums that the Endura

Humvees are available in Gauteng at the bike shop at

Rietvlei farms down in the south. Been using them for years, really good they are.

What did you use inside it? I add a little bit of shield blade or other de-greaser and it works well, gets out a lot of dirt.

Anyone remember/recognise these?

No way! Didn't they come free in an argus goodie bag one year. I wonder were mine went. My brother used them for a while, looked like a complete dork

Any pair of Elixirs! ....

Avids are like Landrovers (yes I have owned both)... second best day of our life is when you buy them.

Best day of your life is when you sell them.
