Hubbers, any info if this Maxxis tire is available in SA?

From the web:"....Maxxis fills the gap in its tire line between the trail oriented Ardent and cross-country focused Ikon with the all new Ardent Race. According to Maxxis, it’s ideal for someone who wants a tire that rolls like an Ikon, but needs a more aggressive cornering knob."

Who is distributing Maxxis in SA? Who can I contact?

CWC has a wide variety on Maxxis, I bought my ikons & ardent from them. Riding Racing Ralphs Snakeskin now and preferring them to the Maxxis BUT id be interested to hear how these new Ardent Race handle. Give a report if u get to ride them

its a fantastic tyre, the UST version is very heavy (900gr) but the tubeless version is around 600gr. And its conferring grip is unbelievable. I love mine.

scrape the bars before it slides stuff.

strong as nails for punctures and good wear, and not too bad on the rolling resistance

Read a review about these tires and they sound awesome. And like most people here said, they are really good. Would really like to feel these tires myself.

My SC came with Ardent UST 29 x 2.25. Nice low rolling resistance and grippy. Excellent rear tyre but looking for more cornering power up front after years of running a Weirwolf as front tyre on my old bike

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Run a Weirwolf 2.3 up front, no lack of cornering power at all.

Put one on my son's Flash after the front washed out a few times with an Icon. A bit heavier than the Icon but very grippy. He has raced a few XC's with it and no wash outs yet.
