I would estimate this to be about only 5% true.

What a nonsensical answer.

If you have nothing of value to add, rather refrain from responding.

Was just a sarcastic way of saying it isn't true...

Ok so what will it do then?

Depending on the bars, most likely drop you're riding position slightly down. Bike shops have a habit of doing this. I went in, said I'm feeling a bit stretched on the bike, what can I try.....a bikefit...not gonna give any other advice. :cursing:

Went to another shop, bought a 70mm 0 rise stem to replace my 100mm 7 degree, much better, don't feel stretched at all anymore and more in control

Its a bit confusing, are you talking about taking a spacer out from under the stem (lower the stem) or taking a spacer from the top and moving your stem up by putting the spacer under?

lifting the stem higher could result in a slightly shorter reach compared to before, but it wont be a lot

Pic of your current set up (Try and get the info on the stem rise too please) and a clear description of what you are trying to achieve ... ie. lower bar height or higher bar height.

The other thing that happens if you go to a wider bar is that your hands are spaced further appart and effectively you are pulling your body forward and downwards (Do this in exaggerated form to see what I mean), this is why if one goes much wider than your current set up, the general trend is to fit a shorter stem.....many assumptions being made here without clear info or seeing you on your bike.
