Got a WhatsApp this morning saying the bike will be ready late afternoon ....................... so ja, even with this rain coming down in CT I am still flipping excited today.

Will only be able to pick her up tomorrow though as I have a late meeting with a new client :(

Interesting bike hey!

I love the thing, it is an awesome machine to ride and despite being a bit of a plus size she handles pretty nicely over the Outeniqua Pass. The rumble cruising at 110/120 kph is also super.

Went to the Ducati open day today. Wow, what a cool event. Free pizza made in a food truck and they just kept making til everyone had enough. Cappuccinos, espressos etc etc and of course beautiful Ducatis.

the streetfighter v2 is a formidable machine. Quite enamoured by it actually.

( not sure why some are upside down, jammer)

And?

Looking forward to day 287.

The engineer removed the bolt from the case, mechanic notes there is very little purchase left with the thread in the case, Monday a helicoil will be fit and then hopefully she can be closed up and reved up.

And?

287 ...... he needs to fit a helicoil, after the broken bolt was removed from the case, he was not comfortable with the thread left in the casing and that he would get proper purchase when torquing the case down.

So hopefully today I can collect her, and at least there looks to be a break in the weather to allow for the collection.

Well - that's pretty much it.  I didn't ride it - when I did the testing I rigged up a 12V coil but for originality, I wanted to keep it 6V so I used the original coil - it's sparked a few times and then of course died!  Serves me right.  I've ordered some pattern grips and foot peg rubbers from the UK and the tank rubbers were put in a safe place by my Dad - so they will be in a box somewhere!  And then I just need to fit a chain - a normal 428 will do.

I'll do all of that before the 1000 Bike show in September.  My Dad won the award for best restoration at the show about 6 years ago - I would be lying if I said I wasn't hoping to get another one for him this year!

Correction, that number is going to go up.

From the mechanic.......It is looking like a fault along the earth in the loom somewhere.

And then you switch on the ignition to start the bike and it starts oozing power out of the wiring
