I still would love to squeeze a fully worked 350LC motor into a new R3 chassis / body, with the Nitro Nori paint scheme. YUMMY YAMMY......

There was one of those parked outside a shop in Bergvliet which I used to see every for a while morning on my way to school.  IIRC it was only there while he was running it in, then it moved to the track.
I feel lucky to have seen so much of it since a lot of people don't even know it exists.

Yeah, like this:

There used to be an old dude who tried to race one at Killarney many moons back. Always thought it was a waste, but hey he had a good time. Think he paid in the region of R350k for it then, this was 2000 odd

Andy, you have a fair bit of knowledge about Yamaha's.

Would a 350LC / R3 swop be possible or even feasible?

Not that I will be able to do it / afford it, but I quite like the idea of a "modern" stroker.

Cylinder head (not complete with cams or valves) - $7573

We have a winner....

Set of inlet valves (12) - R48000 - give or take

Set of exhaust valves (8) - R35132....

Why so expensive, is it made from Unobtanium?

Honestly, I would just buy a 90s 250.

Whenever I am in Cape Town, the Rs250 comes out, and I promise you it will out performs a R3/350 combo any day.

the 90s 250cc make more power that the 350LC or even the power valve ones, and the handling will surely be better.

Definitely possible - been done before in the states - think I might even have posted the link here somewhere

My gut feeling was exactly that - anything is possible, but a good TZR would in my opinion be much better.
