Patchelicious Posted November 12, 2019 Share I still would love to squeeze a fully worked 350LC motor into a new R3 chassis / body, with the Nitro Nori paint scheme. YUMMY YAMMY...... In the first R7 scheme ???????????? Wannabe

dirtypot Posted November 12, 2019 Share There was one of those parked outside a shop in Bergvliet which I used to see every for a while morning on my way to school. IIRC it was only there while he was running it in, then it moved to the track. I feel lucky to have seen so much of it since a lot of people don't even know it exists. Patchelicious Posted November 12, 2019 Share Yeah, like this: http://i818.photobucket.com/albums/zz104/carbonar1/Bike%20Porn/Right-Angle-View.jpgThere used to be an old dude who tried to race one at Killarney many moons back. Always thought it was a waste, but hey he had a good time. Think he paid in the region of R350k for it then, this was 2000 odd Wannabe and dirtypot

Wannabe Posted November 12, 2019 Share Andy, you have a fair bit of knowledge about Yamaha's.Would a 350LC / R3 swop be possible or even feasible? Not that I will be able to do it / afford it, but I quite like the idea of a "modern" stroker.

Whenever I am in Cape Town, the Rs250 comes out, and I promise you it will out performs a R3/350 combo any day. the 90s 250cc make more power that the 350LC or even the power valve ones, and the handling will surely be better. Definitely possible - been done before in the states - think I might even have posted the link here somewhere https://www.r3-forums.com/forum/289-yamaha-r3-general-discussion/131353-r3-engine-swap-track-bike.html https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10027466/

My gut feeling was exactly that - anything is possible, but a good TZR would in my opinion be much better. Patchelicious
