So, after a bit of a break due to an unexpected Heart Attack, i visited Groenkloof yesterday evening for the first time in a few months.

Just wanted to make a positive comment about the efforts that the guys there make to maintain and improve the trails. It was such a pleasure yesterday to find new trails, bridges and continued well maintained pathways. We are indeed fortunate to have this facility in the middle of so much Urban mayhem.

Glad that You're still around to get back on the Bike; many are not so fortunate.

I'm yet to ride in Groenkloof, but the positive feedback is great to hear. Gonna drag the Madam out there as soon as possible. I used to run in a Game Reserve in Bulawayo a million years ago; it was brilliant. I'm sure it is lekker to cycle in Groenies. Now I'm itching.....

Hope the ticker behaves itself from now on.

Thanks, ticker is fine. Luckily I was running or cycling seven days per week leading up to it, so doc said my fitness level saved me. Not allowed any stimulants going forward, so slowly getting used to decaf coffee. Lesson is that stress and stimulants don't go together apparently.

Good to hear that.

"stress and stimulants don't go together apparently." * Red Flag for me; maybe a good time to take notice.

as mentioned in the other thread, Athletes foot cream will sort the itch out

:whistling:

I only have one problem and that is they made road following the perimeter fence too smooth. Otherwise I think Groenkloof is a perfect venue. The long weekends I rode past the campsites and it seemed very popular with decent folks camping there. You can also easaly cycle to the Voortreker Monument which is cycle vriendly or Fort Klapperkop. And if you want an adventure do all 3.

I stay next to Klapperkop and it is a 5 min cycle to the entrance. You'd think I'd be a local by now but for some reason I'm not.

One bit of advice. Don't try do the 4x4 dip if there's water in it...and a whole bunch of hubbers watching with cameras in hand...

Picture or it didn't happen! :)
