I am entered to do this race. I have an old bike but not a vintage set of wheels so I hope I get away with a newer-looking wheelset.

Was it Darren Lilley who took a roadbike up to the mast at Tokai? Is it difficult? I think that would be a cool thing to try. All those single trails suddenly being inundated by skinny-wheels. The next thing you know, hipsters will be cruising along the contour paths. A whole new dimension to cycling.
