Route Description

  • 45km: For the experienced and fitter rider, this course has a lot of climbing & technical challenges (including rocky ascents & descents, single-track sections and tight switchbacks).
  • 32km: For fit riders with average to good technical skills, this route has less climbing & less technical challenges, but will still feel like a good workout.
  • 10km: For the beginner/not so fit rider. Fairly flat route with hardly any technical challenges; the course climbs ever so gradually to the halfway mark, then it'
  • s slightly downhill, followed by flat to the finish.

They made a big mess, they lost half the pre entries, and we had to pay again to ride. They ran out of everything, number boards, cable ties, medals etc etc. They arranged the traffic department for the road crossings, but apparently they did not show up. There were no waterpoints, because they ran out of number boards, anyone could basically ride without even entering. It was such a mess, also waay too many tar road sections for a mtb race. Really hope they get it right this year.

Weather looks great, for the week at least & I'll finally make my first appearance at this race after having it in my list for 2-3 years now. I paid R150, entry fee I'll be pissed if I get non of the things mentioned above, but thanks to everyone here who were guinea pigs over the past couple of events to make it a pleasant race for me. Here's to hoping the organisers are jacked up this year (lifing my glass of vodka at 10:30am) cheers
