The developers responded and said that the hour cut off is correct for DEMO (non subscription) use - i.e. as per their design.

@SwissVan - to ride the route in reverse, there may have to be video footage of it in reverse as well - I understand your thinking (ride it on google maps with gradient) and it is something we will propose to the developers to see if it is feasible.

Thanks Dave

Umm ja the video part might be tricky in reverse.... maybe they can drop the video in these kind of selections (ride back)...

So at the moment its not possible to click a ride back option even on routes without video?

Perhaps it was mentioned before, but here the "discovery" I made.

I have the Ant + power beam.

Having a poor/slow internet connection while racing it takes sometime 10 sec or so for the screen to update. So my cadence ; speed ; power ; distance also update very10 sec.

So what I did was paired my Garmin Edge 500 with the Cycleops Ant + devises.

Now I can see my power ; distance ; speed and cadence the whole time on my Garmin.

Cool man!

Just keep in mind, your current speed and distance will differ to what you see on the screen in VT. Think it has been mentioned before that it has got something to do with how VT works out the power.

I also use the edge with it, in case the internet drops. You can then upload it to your VT diary if you want.

@powertap is ios8 creating alot of issues? would you say its better to not do the update for a while?

So far we have only had one client with a couple of issues but we are doing the update on our office iPad right now to see for ourselves...just trying to keep ahead of any problems before they get out of hand.

Perhaps if you haven't done it maybe hold off for now and lets see how it goes.

Made the move from Jetfluid pro to Power Beam a few weeks ago. Like you, I spend most of my time on the trainer during the week doing 1hr CTS videos. Great way to train, but limited to "cadence and time training". To simulate climbs with MTB gearing on the fluid is also limited - no resistance except higher gearing.

I find that trying to maintain a power level instead of cadence much harder, to the extent that I have to double up on the towels I use during the workout! There is a bit more ritual setup to go through before you ride, but worth it.

The additional stimulus I get from the workout material, even if it is watching my marker crawl to the end seems to help. I hope it will make be a stronger rider when comes to hills on my MTB.

So for me, the $$ was worth it. Make sure you do your homework regarding the final cash layout. If you need to purchase the trainer and IPAD for example, it will add up.

Make the decision and go for it!

I've got all the kit. The only question is whether to upgrade the JetFluid to the Powerbeam. Decisions, decisions.

BTW - what is CTS you train with?

Bud, with 1/2 the kit already sorted, honestly it's a NO BRAINER! Do it...If you see the power half the lads are putting out in an hr session, you got to believe that there is something to POWER training that makes sense. In many ways it has made me a bit more humble to what I thought I was capable of doing vs my actual input in a training session. When I see someone averaging 300watts in an hr session and I struggle to do 200watts, that's PURE motivation for me! Hard to find an isolated training system to do this for me...damn I should be a salesman for Power Beam... :whistling: I'm sure you'll find a few happy customers in this forum. let us know how it pans out for you.

CTS(Carmichael Training System). A few videos I've downloaded and followed with the last trainer.

I realised and experienced first hand on Sunday at the Randwater Race just how much these IDT training sessions have contributed to performance out on the road...

The first climb up walkerville hill I went to the front to do some work for the group only to realise once I was at the top I had left my group behind and for the first time I comfortably rode to the top in my big chain ring. Then coming into the finish I lost my group coming over the gravel section and when I got back onto the tar they were a good 500m or so up the road with a head wind I just put my head down and TT back up to them quite easily. I then thought I will just sit here and ride in with the group but with 1km to go I felt I had recovered enough and took off again as hard as I could go only to be passed with a few meters to go from the line.

The big thing with the hard efforts coming to the line was that I knew just how hard I could push myself based on the efforts used in those Tuesday races we do... so far this has been the best cash spent on cycling in ages and it was really awesome to see the training sessions paying off when it mattered

Desktop version:

How do I search for routes without video's?

It I disable the video tick box and do the search - it only shows routes with video's?

Once a route was opened there is no back function - I have to close the program again and re open it ?

I want to create a race for tonight but the program don't allow me to select / find a route with no video?

Is this a program (Desktop version) error or do i do something incorrect?

I only want to create an online race with no video.

Does the tablet version of Virtual Trainer do the same?

Thanks

only using the demo version when searching but it allows me to search for routes without video. after the search, select a route and it downloads it. Click on the "route search" tab to go back to the search and change the parameters or look at another route.

Going for a jog tonight (unless it rains) I'm keen for a race on Thursday from 18:15 or later if someone wants to create one.

I have a local route that is 22.9 km long and only 127 m climbing, not to difficult if you race only one lap. It was the road route for the Swiss road champs a few years ago, if someone wants to try it its called "Hagendorn circuit"
