Totally correct , only Mavics are 11 speed ready

Road as well gentleman, friend of mine changed his dura ace 10spd to 11 spd. We ordered an "11spd" Shimano freewheel body as well and in the end it was not needed. Syncro wheels on....but then again they are actually DT Swiss....same with my Shimano wheelset we checked....straight fit

I think the next big thing is 4x11. 1x11 is all wrong and is wasting energy.

Think the new thing will be a driving shaft and some internal geared hub working wireless ( bluetooth or something). Sram allready in that direction with their wireless gear shifting...

have you heard of 12 speed. me neither, but just wait a little

Come on we all know more is better... until then it's not and everyone has too many gears then it's time to sell everyone a whole lot less gears for more money and make sure you have to replace everything with more just to become simpler and less. :)

Guys, quick question.

Is it possible to use 10spd shimano chain rings with a sram force 22 groupset?

I've heard mixed stories, its a 50/50 split. I'm worried about the chain dropping/struggle to shift.

I don't think it'll fall off on the inside due to the chain catcher but there might be a problem shifting into the big ring.

Does anyone have this setup? New sram rings are nogals pricey hence me wanting to go with 10speed rings.

I use a Dura Ace (7800) 10 speed crank with my 11 speed Ultegra (6800) groupset with no trouble.

The reason why I mixed is Ultegra does not came in a 180mm crank length...

Guys, Ive been thinking. Can you use a 11/12-32 cassette while using a normal/short rear derailleur? Had to swop out my compact crank for a standard one due to getting a power meter but now my climbing legs have gone to shiit.

I'm running force 22 53/39 and 11-28. If I turn the B screw all the way in then by the look of things, the gap does not increase enough to clear a 32. I havent tried fitting a 32 but I'm really keen to try. has anyone done this?

Not huge difference, but it could save ur energy when u do a long ride. Especially if u use 20,19,18,17,16 those guys a lot.

For example If u dont have 18 one, u can still have a choice either 19 with a bit high cadence which ur heart is not happy or 17 with a bit low cadence which ur legs are not happy.

This means that if u have 18 u can use ur power more effectively and comfortably.

i had 12-28 but u sold it and use 12-25 now.

Maybe im not a strong cyclist so maybe i want to have more density gear ratio(?) then 20,18,16th... Hahaha

And i think 11speed is slightly lighter. :P (im not 100% sure).

Cool, Im ok with my current cassette ratio, I just need something more forgiving on the climbs.

Id like to know if anyone has used the wide range cassette on the short derailleur, so that I could give it a go without wasting ZARs
