Omnico and my 3rd GT Frame

The LBS dealt with them for the last month or so and yesterday informed me that it seems the situation is in a deadlock.

 

That was when I created this thread and at the same time contact them directly to inform them of what it is I am doing as well as why I am doing it.

 

Thankfully they responded very positively and it was simply because they wanted to resolve the matter and make sure I was a happy customer. They only checked this thread later so I do not think it is fair to say they had to be threatened or anything of the kind.

 

I think they were just unaware of my situation and how I felt about it. I wish more companies would be as open and understanding as that :D

well someone gave you k@k service. either your LBS or Omnico.

Not sure which of the two sisters I dealt with, was it Miss Understanding or Miss Communication?

 

All I can say is I am delighted that after all this time the issues was sorted.

Wow, that was quick! :clap:

 

Just got a call from them - they will replace the frame with no quibbles. Seems it was just a bit of admin that they needed to sort out with the international suppliers but they will handle it for me. Sending a new frame to the LBS as soon as they can.

 

Thank you Omnico :thumbup: I really did not expect it and I am very happy ^_^

 

Maybe consider selling the replacement frame as you and GT frames obviously don't mix well.

I had the greatest experience with Omnico! Very helpful and sorting my problem very quickly.

My lbs also played a big role.

 

I think a lot of times the LBS is to blame rather than the suppliers!

And often it's not.

 

So many times I have stood next to the guys in the LBS when they are on the phone to suppliers, promises are then made based on what the suppliers say, and then the LBS guys get shouted at when stuff doesn't arrive.

 

Funny enough just happened to me. Ordered a pair of shoes last week Thursday, supplier said it would at LBS today, drove out there only to pick it up, not there, call supplier, "oh no will be there tomorrow"......

I have had not one, not two but three frame failures on GT 29er bicycles in the last 18 months. After the last one Omnico is refusing to provide me with a replacement frame or refund me the R4000 I paid a year ago to upgrade from a cracked Karakoram to a Zaskar frame.

 

Is there anything I can do other than make sure as many people possible know about this ?
