Prep for 2015 Freedom Challenge / Race to Rhodes

I wouldn't say that Dirt-rider has found his rhythm yet. Yesterday he did 25 kms extra on a 50km stretch. He has been riding alone most of the time since Stephen K withdrew. Today he apparently left in a group though. Hope for his sake he can keep up with them. He has apparently lost his compass.

Johann Rissik seems to be going along well.

Any info on why Rob and Tessa withdrew? They made it to Rhodes without many issues.

Tessa experienced some breathing issues put down to her lungs struggling with rapid rise in altitude over Lehanas. One would suggest the cold start (-2) in Rhodes today pushed it over the edge.

Looks like Pierre and a few others are straying from the route in Tinana. Hope they realize their mistake soon

Quite a few of the other used the same route. Looks like it is just an alternate route.

Johann Rissik is also straying from the recommended route this morning but seems to be returning to it again.

Who are you referring to?

sorry wasn't looking properly. They're just taking a higher line for the last bit. They did go through the valley. Garry Green, Kemsley, Andrew.

Apologies

Looks like Andrew Hunt has made a devastating mistake. After climbing Lehanas he took a wing turn in the way into Rhodes and then headed back down the mountain he just rode up via the Naudesnek pass. Having driven this road 2 days ago i am practically in tears. Just to hectic.

I've cycled up that before. Definitely would not want to have to do it twice in one day.

Mike R and John B also made a very bad nav error today. Let's hope tomorrow is better for them all.

NO NO NO, that is amazing! i think that could possibly be the biggest nav error in the history of the race!

ok. FC has started for me now. It looks like it really is going to be between Tim James and Andrew Barnes. lots of other things could happen, but I think these two will be trading treadmarks for the best part of the next fortnight. Andrew got to centacow and seems to have taken a quick rest - tim came past a bit later and is on his way to ntsikeni.
