"Lance should be forgiven", "cheating is to be condoned", "doping is perfectly acceptable", "everybody is still doing it", "everybody has always been doing it", "bernaud hinault is a ****"...you guys should read what you write and reconsider whether you want any part of a SPORT that features the above. Lance Armstrong is a lying, cheating, doping scumbag and fully deserves his permanent ban from ALL competitive sport.

He currently holds ZERO cycling titles. NONE. How many gold medals and world records does Ben Johnson have? I would guess just as many as Lance does...

easy TIGER its called opinions everyone is entitled to them,,,,,clearly you feel strongly about yours, as do i

my point i thought i made clear was this

ON THE FINAL STAGE OF 7 TDF HE STOOD UP AND RECIEVED 7 TITLES,,,

and allllllll the other racers who were also cheating COULDNT BEAT THE MAN

Dips, of course, you are entitled to your opinion about Lance. However, my view is that any attempts to justify what Lance did should be carefully scrutinized... His behavior over a long period of time and his lack of remorse thereafter indicate that Lance is not the type of person that should be admired, loved, venerated or (possibly) forgiven... I was saddened by Pantani and enraged by Armstrong. Their careers both destroyed by the doping culture in pro cycling and the acceptance thereof by everyone from the teams to the uci to the fans. Sheesh, why does this make me so the moer in?

The best comment: " This we can stipulate: Lance Armstrong cheated death, and then he kept on cheating."

That's assuming the whole cancer thing wasn't also a charade.

Look I'm 99.9% positive he had cancer, I've even met dr Einhorn(sp?) who treated him. But the teeny chance exists that he faked it too, been plenty of upside for post cancer Lance. If people can go with hollywood producing the moonlanding, then I could buy this being 'faked'.

and THAT is the problem with cheating - it casts doubt over everything else...everything around Lance is permanently contaminated: cycling, the tour, cancer, his charity...

Listen. Lance had a testosterone problem. He just used a few supplements to make the field level. Why should he precluded based on something completely out of his control. And remember what he was really on... on his saddle, busting his ball 6 hours a day.

Rouxtjie, we also refer to the Spruit as the "River of Principles"...if you get my drift...pedaling down there in the dark and cold, dodging the intoxicated bergies and rabid dogs, fending off the acrid stench of human excrement and ramping over the growing piles of unrecycled recyclables, we are often overcome by philosophical musings on the nature of our sport...

Stop die lorrie...

Guys...read that article again, look at what urks him the most, what hits him in the proverbial gonads or in his case, gonad..He is paying everyday for his doping sins...make no mistake

Does the money bother him...nah. Lost all his sponsors in one day..150 bar's worth.

Does the fact that he lost all his titles bother him...nah, in his mind, he was the champ.

Does the fact that he can never compete in anything anywhere anytime bother him....YAHTZEE

He is playing golf with tjommies to get his competitiveness fix ffs. His personality type needs competition..thrives on it if you will. This is where it hurts for him.

While other ex dopers are back in the tour, worlds and even SuperCycling.... Treat them equally, whatever the punishment is (lifetime or 2 years etc). We can debate that the damage he caused was severe, BUT the good he did for the sport, and way he saved TDF after Festina (single handedly got the most powerful nation in the world uber keen in bikes almost overnight), must surely balance him out to be treated the same as others. Don't think Panatani raised gazillions for cancer.....

Sure or what about....and you going to love this

1 offense = banned for life from all competition. Like the cape epic does wrt it its policy. I wonder how pro mtbers with a postive feel about the fact that they can never compete on that stage again.

Would support that 100% as long as it's across the board. Maybe have like a TRC for guys to come clean and then life bans after for any positives.
