Agree with the OP, contacted them to ask if it is for both only to be told it is left or right....

All other sites list a SET as front and rear NOT lever and caliper....then they should say lever and caliper....front and rear or left and right is a set

Brake level and caliper is a set !! You need two sets ! Everybody advertise it like that even CRC !

Not according to MOST sites in SA

Look at Chainreaction....they refer to it as follows...

Lever

Caliper

Or

XT M785 Disc brake when it includes the above and

a SET when it is front and rear brakes..

So does EVO and CWC.....

OP is correct!

Here is Proof that CRC does NOT advertise like that

SET

SINGLE

So, 1) you bought the stuff and afterwards realized only one set arrived? or 2)You saw it was only a "half set" on the advert, never exchanged money, and never received the goods?

that is not the point!

 If you did that then you got no sympathy from me !!! That will show that you did not bother to read the add . When I got the mail I knew this will not be a "complete"XT brake set by simply looking at the price . BTW it is called clever advertising , and nothing sinister about it . Not a lot of entrepreneurs around here I see . :whistling:

That's not an answer to the question either.

Op could not have received the goods as it only went on sale a few minutes ago...maybe read the OP post properly :whistling:

Exactly my point. He never bought it because he realized it was not a full set. So he doesn't actually have a problem on his hands now does he. He is just disappointed because he thought he was about to buy a lekker cheap set of breaks only to realize its not the case.

No if you actually bother reading the whole thread you would have noted that I was not interested in buying the product. I circulated it to mates. I have XT brakes already.

Obviously it's not a case of buying and only then realising the issue. The e-mail circular was misleading. The site was clearer.

So has every one spent more time debating this than than it took to read the email, click through, see what it was actually for, get annoyed and then move on?

It's not the right way in my mind but you have different people advertising in different ways on a heap of different sites. For me 'set' is the whole lot. 'Brakes' are levers, hoses and callipers (can be front, back or both - check description), levers are just that, callipers are just that.

Not even sure what Shimano call a set as I've never checked, I just read what I'm getting for my coin.
