Just keep pedaling. When you don't feel like it anymore you think of Jens and just keep pedaling... You can do it!!!!! See you and Col there!

Ja ja ....... sure I'll finish in time. Woke up this morning with an awful nervousness in my stomach when thinking of Sunday.... gulp.... :(

Interesting strategy.... Some motivation to start fast and catch the group in front of you to improve your seeding!

Going to be interesting with a big climb early-on and DC teams fallling back to work together, groups could be quite mixed-up by the time we get to Boschendal!

Falling back to work together? Goal is to drop at least 2. Team mates on hellshoogte. Good to keep the fear of God in them to train harder for the next month!

But in all seriousness we will have a full team at one toner this weekend and should only drop hammer after riebeck kasteel. :P unless we get carried away.

Also doing it with my DC team. Goning to be hard I know. My wide is having spitbraai the night before.

Hope you have a better ride this year. You have been klapping the kilos.

Anyone doing it on their MTB's like we are? Its going to be a nice training ride, hard but I'm sure we will manage. Just hoping there is going to be some support (i.e. cyclists at the back) to help share the load.

Weather gods were kind yesterday and WCE had great conditions.

What are the chances of good conditions on consecutive weekends.

Last year it blew a gale two weekends before when we did our Training ride, and even worse on Race day. The weekend inbetween (the WCE race weekend) the weather was perfect.

So anything is possible.

Jeepers Hubbers, its going to be a hot one. I hope the PPA have enough water and ice, unlike some other races I have done in extreme heat - Tour de Stellenbosch comes to mind, got heat stroke and spent the afternoon shivvering and getting sick. I cant WAIT for Sunday though. Going to register this afternoon.

Anyone starting in "I group" that is also doing this as a training ride and not racing?? My little bit of training has been compounded with being ill since Sunday. Feels like I'm turning the corner today though, so still keen to ride this weekend.

That tour de Stellenbosch killed me. Raced the day before then hung in with A till 12km to go then hit the wall so hard. Off bike throwing up, couldn't keep anything down, full cramp and dizzyness. I hid under the marshal water table for 5 min then in a ditch which had some cool water in it. When I got back on the bike I sat behind some old lady on a mtb from the short route to the finish going 14km/h. I did not even have energy to say thanks to her. Amount of times I got shouted at to " hammer it savage" as people passed, plenty of times. Almost took my shirt off in shame.
