my kids were raised to look evaluate and decide, then again i dont cover them in bubble wrap as the world is a harsh place, they need to know about the way the REAL world works, my daddy taught me the school of hard knocks early enough in life not to be surprised by peoples actions and that HEROES are just humans like us,

So if testosterone is naturally produced in the body and there are medically accepted norms at what point are you considered to be doping, likewise if an athlete declares to a controlling body they are undertaking treatment is there not some responsibility of that body to to advise the athlete or their controlling body who in turn should inform the athlete they are outside the accepted limit and to cease immediately and if their levels increase beyond X level they will be considered to be doping or alternately to examine the evidence given to them and say at Y level of treatment you should stop for re assessment by the controlling body. Most athletes are treated by GP's who are aware of their circumstances and will take reasonable steps to protect their client but they are not experts in the field and some support or direction would sure help.

 

The controlling body is in theory the experts on the matter and as much as they need to be impartial etc.. and wield the big stick of control should they also not immediately inform an athlete of their rights and requirements in order to undertake controlled treatment when an application is made for treatment.

 

else where in this strange world if a person where to declare a problem to the correct person / authority etc and there was no return feed back etc. there would definitely be a consequence on the person/ authority who recieved the information and didnt react to the detriment of the party with the problem.

 

A common thread seems to throw up in most of these doping issues that are a bit this way or that is the one way communication with nothing in return except a banning and also the massive time frames taken to consider the cases, surely these guys in control need to look in the mirror sometime and look themselves in the eye and decide if they are being constructive and controlling to maintain a level playing field or just wielding a big stick which any clown with given authority and a book of red tape can do.

At least BS is getting the PR thing right. Open and honest (I think). Sadly it IS performance enhancing and the fellow competitors will not be happy with anything but a watertight case. From a medical point of view: any treatment (even water) has side-effects. In this case I don't think it was wrong to treat or be treated but it WAS wrong to race.

Hi Talus, When my first application was denied they should have just told me to stop racing and I would have!!!! But there was no communication from them whatsoever, not once did anyone say hey you have made a mistake here... BEARING IN MIND TOOK THE TESTO IN FEB AND ABOUT 6 TESTS FROM THEN TILL JULY WHICH ALL CAME BACK NEGATIVE, THATS WHAT GAVE ME THE IMPRESSION IT WAS ALL OK??? THEN 7TH JULY OUT OF COMP TEST. 9TH JULY GET INFORMED FINAL APPLICATION FOR TUE DECLINED AND INFORMED 31STOCTOBER 2013 HAD POSITIVE TEST....
