hi guys can ou please tell me how good novatec hubs are and if anyone has had experince with them?

I have a set for almost 4 years now, have done Attakwas, Trans Baviaans, W2W and Epic on them, plus many km's of training and no issues at all. They are awesome value for money!

The best... one of, if not THE biggest hub manufacturers in the world. The only real issue i ever had was the bearing, and that was quickly fixed by fitting standard bearingman bearings in it. Ive never looked back.

They make a big range and a lot of hubs are branded for different companies so experiences will vary. I ride them and build on them and I recon they are excellent value for money. The sealed bearing ones compare with most of the up market hubs - two bearings on the freehub, two bearings on the axle and the whole lot clamped together on a sufficiently strong axle. A choice of steel or aluminum freehubs completes the deal. The flanges are strong enough to take high spoke tensions without the bearings being unseated and the range includes some pretty light ones. My road rear was 75gm lighter than a 105. Overall I think they are underrated. The big question with components that wear is how well are they supported?

I Run a Novatec rear hub on my MTB and have had no problems with it.

also Evo Bikes are the Local agents if anything does go wrong.

Cape Cycle Systems are the local agents.

I have one on my rear wheel - replacement for the hi-lo crap that Specialized try to pass off as a hub.

I have struggled with play since day 1 - lbs says it's normal. Does a bearing change fix this?
