This must have been the most dangerous ARGUS ever.

People had no manners and rode like they will win the race.

Looked like some people only races the argus and no other races so their bike skills is equal to a 5 year old ducking weaving all over the place.

Look left the bike goes left. I was even told to shut up and F*&* off when i warned people about the pavement and island in the middle of the road.

people we need more manners. We are all in it together. treat the next person like u want to be treated.

ecg, no need to apologise. it's a valid complaint and one of the main reasons i'm not interested in riding big events anymore - i always end up with the "i'm surrounded by idiots" feeling.

it was more a plea than anything else.

if south african cycling will be like this then motorist all have reason to driver over us. We cant even be nice and thoughtful to each other.

True.  Entitled yes Fiasm.

But it is getting too much now.....It is Wednesday already......

One must ALWAYS remember that we live in a society that is rude, inconsiderate and plainly EVIL!

Putting 40 000 of them together, giving each one a bicycle and saying cycle in a straight line, is just NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

So for me.......expect the unexpected and you will be fine.

But complaining about something that you know not only cyclists suffer from but the WHOLE community, is just a waste of time.

My pennies.

I still firmly believe a "Guide to Having A Sense of Humour, Simultaneously!!" should be part of the new bike purchase goodies, along with "Pointing your bike Forward: Advanced skills for every competitor".

And never forget "Zinn and the art of enjoying riding for ridings' sake"

well clearly, in a thread about 'manners', not everyone is like that nor expects it of others.

It's sad that you feel that way towards the world.

people just need to relax take it easy not to get stressed. I was nearly taken out by a guy with a yellow number guy on his dik wiel . he passed me on the downhill into simonstown and then when his rear wheel was 10cm infront of my wheel he slipped infront of me and i caught a skrik thought to myself hell that was close and maybe i pissed him off cos i was riding to slow for him and this lady to my right got more stressed than me when she saw what happened she mumbled something and shook her head at the guy.

hey argus time there are so many peoples on the road you must be ready for anything always expect the unexpected and you must think for others sometimes .

just my 5cents ( money is tight )
