That's a proper mountain bike sakkie, absolute beaut, I wouldn't care what it weighed.

Thanks bullet. I really dont. I just weighed it for the heck of it and was quite surprised. I must say that i would like to put enve dh bars on her but at 3k a pop... Dont think so. Hehe

7.86kg

I must say that is damn light.

My 26" hardtail was at 8kg's flat with rigid fork and wheels that weighed 2kg's with tyres.

I have only carbon and nothing less than XT, it was also a 1x9.

was my old bike last year.

Please can we have a spec on this bike.

it 1 kg lighter than mine and I can see certain items that weigh more than my bike

Saddle, fork, tyres, cranks, 2x10, front derailler, etc

Unless you got an extremely light wheel set and frame, handlebar, stem combo I don't see how you could be 1kg lighter than me with items listed above weighing 600-800gr more than on my bike, effectively making it 1.8kg lighter!!!

Than would be a 7.2kg bike with 1x10, different tyres, cranks, and saddle. - World cup pro level

Very interested to see the spec sheet

As promised here is the updated bike at 9.4kg

Build List:

Frame: 2011 Trek S/F Elite

Fork: Rock Shox SID XX WC D/A

Wheels: Reynolds Carbon XC 29"

Driveline: Sram XX/XO

Brakes: Formula R1 Racing

Stem & Seatpost: KCNC

Bar: Easton EC70 720mm

Saddle: Selle Italia SLR Ti (cover striped)

Tyres: Schwalbe Racing Ralph SnakeSkin

Rims are heavy as carbon ones go these days +100g each on Enve, but bullet proof.

Frame is around 1400g now after being repaired.

Current model with updated frame and XX1 is 8.7kg

believe it or not hey :-) my next build will be way lighter when I get there.

That weight is quite hard to believe, can you post the specs so I can see where I can shave 1,5 kg off an otherwise full carbon build...?

It was end of last year so lost the build sheet but will put down what i still have and can remember

Scott scale rc frame: 956

sid for (brain)+Expander: 1472

Alero H/B: 150g

Kcnc Stem: 108g

Grips : 11g

Breaks + Rotors: 513g

XX Shifter: 91g

Seat, Sella Italia: 134g

Seatost: 175g

Headset +Seatpost Collar: 110

SRAM Red F/D + Bracket: 91g

XX Rearf deraileur: 188g

Crank (Rotor Crank 1x10): 670g

Eggbeater 11s: 184g

XX Casette: 207g

KMC Chain: 234

KCNC Quickrelease: 44g

Stans: 140g for both wheels. I believe if 70g of sealant doesnt seal a hole you not gonna seal it and might as well put a tube in.

In the picture i had my american classic front wheel and a carbon back wheel that i was building up at the time. The carbon wheels i built up had a tune kong/Princess hubs, PIllar 1417 spokes (Bsically revoloutions and) Carbon rims from China. The first rims i bout from China broke i shall admit. But have bought from a more reliable source but the rims together only added 50g to the wheel set which now sit at plus minus 1350g. The american classics were 1427g which i used mostly as i didnt get a chance to race the first china wheels, the second set i built up i have been racing for a year now.

Back wheel had a specilized s-works tyre at around 440-460g and a RR front at around 520g.

You obviously have to add on a little for gear cables grease valves etc.
