Make sure your bag is water tight and Wear appropriate clothing......Most important of all is to have an open mindset to enjoy being in the rain

Rain... No problem

Lightning, hail and dumb ass drivers... There's your problem.

I like to commute in the rain. Backpack has a level of water resistance, sprayed the backpack with Scotch guard as well, just to protect my tablet and Macbook. I have a very light first accent rain jacket that I can get over the backpack and myself as well.

Only problem I have is getting my shoes dry. Do not like my one pair of shoes that I have

Getting wet from the outside is just the same as getting wet from the inside (sweating). Either way you'll end up damp. :)

A light rain jacket is usually enough.

As Hairy says, just make sure your backpack is waterproof; it's not much fun finding a wet area on your carefully packed trousers because the base of your pack is not 100% waterproof.

And then having to walk around a busy production area full of sharp eyed women who notice if your shoelaces have changed......

Ditto this ... especially the last point. Enjoy the ride for what it is

How do you handle rain, especially hard rain when commuting?

Just suck it up and ride?

Wear rain jacket?

1st rains are coming next week and i am now solely reliant on ny bike.

glasses glasses glasses. i've had no worse experience riding in rain than without glasses to protect from "sideways rain" when going fast as well as mud and junk shooting up into my eyes (maybe an mtb-tyre-tread-reason).

also, if you get very wet on your head/hair, water or strands of hair make their way into your eyes.... just something ive had happen a few times.

also, mtb tyres turn into slicks and slicks into soap- from my experience.

As extra protection to keep my clothes dry in my bag I put everything in plastic bags inside my bag. Not only my clothes, its not pleasant having a dripping wet wallet. I also keep a spare set of clothes at work anyway just incase something does get wet.
