Today was scary. Car pulled out infront of me. With 5 meters to spare. Locked the rear brake, swinged the bike and pulled off a brown pant factor 10 move. Swigged out of the line, infront of the car, missing the car next to me by few cm's. And best of all the lady wanted to pull out of a parking area, and use a entrance 2 meters away. I just hope that the next time she goes out she will look to the right direction when turning into a one way road.

Very VERY glad I took the bicycle. Traffic was standing still for about 6 km of the 12km commute of mine

Just make sure that all the electrical stuff is kept dry and get on the bike and ENJOY!!!!! If you are getting cold, ride harder, but most of all, ENJOY!!!

Only problem I have is getting my shoes dry. Do not like my one pair of shoes that I have

Filling your shoes with rice works like a charm - I've done that on very wet and muddy stage races, and shoes were dry enough that it was comfortable in dry socks the next morning.

And cat litter box sand? Unused in a stocking? Wanted to stop at Pick n Pay but had a clients computer in my car. So rushed back to the office

The most fun of bike commuting in the rain is the funny looks you get from people (when you chill at a red robot in the soaking rain and they simply think you are mad or something).

"Apple" jacket works well enough to keep the wind/cold off your core, I find this more important than staying dry.

Wet cycling shoes are nasty. I've found that newspaper balls inside my shoes dries them well enough by the next morning (still somewhat damp, but not freezing cold in the find).

Lol, so many questions...

Is this good resistance training.

What impact does the water have on the mechanics of the bike.

How much lighter is the bike now with the added support of the water.

How much extra weight are they carrying in water..

An open man hole would make for a bad time.

Etc

Etc
