Psyrax Posted September 30, 2014 Share If you want the lightest production bike, look further. If you want the absolute lightest bike ever, this is it. An exercise into what is possible, tips the scale, or rather blowing on the scale at 2,7kg. No there is not a 1 missing or some typo. 2,7 kg is correct. Most of the parts was either prototype or one-off custom pieces made specifically for this anorexic beast. Even some of the carbon comes from Formula 1 technology, not commercially available. And it's not just a show piece. This bike has clocked over 20 000 k's. Just to give an idea how insanely light this bike is, the wheels weigh 585 g - that's BOTH wheels. The cost? If these parts is available or you have all the connections, you better start saving and don't tell the wife why you need a half a million rand bike. Yes, it's estimated cost is a cool R500 000. That's excluding import duties. Enjoy these pics and the spec list. Some of the weights are included.
