It's unfortunate that as they get going with their first race they are already giving people the middle finger when they make a mess with the entry system. First, if you are entering the 22 km race you are going to be a novice. 2nd, if you let the 11yr old enter from the beginning don't then blow her off 1week before the race because you made a mistake on your entry system and no under 13's are allowed to enter. She can ride as well as any 40yr old novice, she has also trained for the last few months for the race just like everyone else. Do you want your entry fee back they ask, da. I want the entry that I payed for, this was a family entry. Do we not want the kids out there on the trail and not in the shopping malls!!!! Am I missing the point of having a community race in the city?

As easy as it is for me to be on the side lines as my kids aren't involved, the day will come when they want to ride races with me and i would hope that after the authorities have allowed my children (2 boys and a girl) to enter that they would honour their word and let my kids partake and not dump them the night before.

@Juma, i reckon, that if you have the parent who is willing to sign a waiver and stay with their child then let them go. No parent would enter their kid into a race if they didn't have full trust in the childs ability and wasn't planning on doing the race in their childs shadow. well no loving parent at least.

Guys, we're really sorry about this, just nothing we can do. There are some severe legal restrictions around U12's. We regret the unclear messaging and humbly apologise to the 40 or so kids it affected (only a few of which were U12).

You know what grinds me, 1week before the race. Who is not doing their job here? It just leaves a bitter taste, especially since my overpriced entry is paying them to be competent.

Shyte, for a second there I thought you were on a rant about our government.

Big words considering what went into organising this race.

Can you do it better? If so then take your overestimated sense of importance and do so.

There's at Least 6 People on the First page of the Classifieds Event Entries wanting that "overly priced" entry who would love to be part of this Race.  From what I've seen in the Spruit and the images on here over the last few weeks they look pretty dam competent to me.

If they feel under 12s shouldn't be on this course there is clearly a valid reason for it.

If the entries were overpriced - why did you enter in the first place?

Shouldnt need to, the race part is completely seperate from uploaded workouts. Just follow nukeproofs instructions and you're golden.
