And yet the UCI keep in giving them racing licences. . Pffft...

At the rate sponsors are pulling from sport they are not exactly in a position to deny licences left right and centre

I also have HUGE respect for alberto contador ! I think many paople had it wrong on him and as time goes on hes stolen fans hearts and always stays down to earth ! I think hes a true gentleman and a super hero! He comes from a humble background and worked hard to achieve what he did! I guess hard work does pay off in the end!

I reckon we all go through this like/dislike sequencing when it comes to Pro riders. We may not like a certain individual for whatever reason, but deep down I think we can't NOT respect and admire them for what they are able to do on a bike.

Which is why switching between like/dislike happens almost seamlessly.

I didn't like Berto a few years ago, but that's changed. I liked Andy at one point. With LA I went from fan, to simply dislike and cant stand him.

Lol

I was never a huge cycling fan. My dad always watched it so we had to watch or go play outside. . And you of course heard about this rider or that rider .. and the won again. Etc... so I knew about all the past greats.

But I never understood anything. . Tactics etc.. it was lost to me and I considered it like watching paint dry...

THEN

My hubby's one friend wanted to come watch the cycling (he was visiting from england) as his folks didn't have dstv and i said fine. . Come watch and explain it to me.. you know what was the very first TDF stage I watched while getting a cycling 101 and actually paying attention to it?.. The 2001 L'Alpe d'heuz stage.. yes THAT stage..

I was hooked. . Every day the buddy would come and explain this cycling business to me..

Of course we all supported this wonder story of Flance Armstrong.. I mean talk about.. cancer recovery. . Winning..it so many times. .

But yoh.. I would like to slap him now hey

As dominant as beef eating Alberto Contador has been this Giro, a look at the GC top 5 tells you that he hasn't been up against any top contenders... His many competition was from the Astana and Sky super domestiques.

There are more deserving teams than astana.. but then astana have money and that's all the uci cares about.

They do 5-6 hour rides 6 days a week for many months.

And optimal nutrition and rest (no Woolworths chewy sweets and Lindt choccies)

That's how they keep that engine purring so steadily.

Complete stg 15 in time with an avg HR of 133, Yeah right, sweet dreams Dale

Ja

Wouldn't surprise me if Lance had Bert's Beef contaminated as payback for the ass whipping the previous yr.[emoji6] I wouldn't put anything past Lance and Bruyneel hey.. and I kinda like that conspiracy theory.

You did not just blame LAnce for that, unbelievable...move on move on

So they're now under way with Stage 17. Short @ 134 km and one little bump to get over in the beginning, otherwise relatively flat.

So should be a chilled recovery stage?

Ahem. No, this is the Giro, so something mad is bound to happen....
