Shipping Delays due to Post Office Strike

I recently purchased some components from Chain Reaction, and rather stupidly went for the Standard Delivery option. I ordered the components on the 20th August, and I am still waiting.

Anyone got any advice on how I can find out if the components are at he post office, and if there is possibly a way to collect it myself?

Or, should I cut my losses and get the equipment locally?

If it ever arrives, I can always sell it on the hub  :w00t:

i ordered online at the beginning of August. Took 3 days for international shipping, and 5 weeks for local delivery.  I checking trackmyparcel.co.za 2 - 3 times a week, it will come eventually.

I eventually drove out to EMS next to the airport. What a joke. The security wouldn't even let me in because the scum sucking striking bastards won't even let the others work. They intimidated them to the point of forcefully removing them from the premises. They've been suitably threatened to the point where they don't even bother coming in anymore.

I ordered stuff from over seas in the middle of September and it arrived a week ago. Chain reaction does have a refund option available for goods that don't arrive.

Hey Craig, Contact Kenny at CRC on shipping@chainreactioncycles.com.

Explain to him the issue. He will forward you an Insurance Claim form that you can fill in in order for CRC to claim against their insurance. They will then resend the item via DHL.

Worked for me on an XT group set that was also ordered in August and by early Oct still nothing.

Not saying that it will work, but definitely worth a try.

Just received my package from CRC - sent on the 1st of October. Even got deliver to my office and I paid the vat. I spoke to the guy and he said all WC operations are back to normal and only GP is problematic. He also told me in the interim while JHB is not operational international good are getting sent to Durban and then onward from there. My good arrived Durban Friday and I got them in Cape Town today. Had a parcel send from JHB on the 16th of Sept got here Friday last week. What a balls up

I think I was one of the unlucky ones that got his parcel stuck at one of the depots. I have mailed CRC top see if there is anything they can do for me.

Same here, CT seems to be working albeit slowly. I picked my parcel up from CapeMail on Friday that CRC sent on the 12th September.

I got hold of SAPO customer car on Wednesday to get the local tracking number and they had nothing.

Basically all you can do is wait and see... good luck.

So I sent a mail to Chain Reaction explaining to them what happened. The responded within a day, and sent me a "Lost In Post" declaration, which I completed.

They have agreed to refund my account, which should reflect within 10 days.

All I can say is that Chain Reaction were fantastic, and did not even question me when I requested a refund.

I am sure they have got insurance for these sort of eventualities, but their willingness to help me is hat I really appreciated.

If by some miracle the Post Office strike comes to an end (the chances of Nkandla being properly paid for are better) and the goods arrive, then I will be sure to return the goods to CRC.

Did the same and recieved a replacement shipment via DHL Express. The process was easy and effective - the way client service should be. Well done CRC
