Sucky service vs superb service

Retail is a funny thing.

As mentioned before, you really only get one chance and each experience is as unique as the person experiencing it.

So whilst most of you had good experiences, there is no excuse for not doing what you say you will.

If you say you will call back, then call back.

And i actually agree with Nolipoli. There is no reason to call someone a name. Not ever. Especially when you have been called out on bad service, even for an isolated case.

This could have been handled better.

Perhaps School fees for the shops concerned?

So, I needed a part and called two bike shops, CWC and Evobikes.  Both don't have the part or the price on it and promise to call the agents and get back to me ASAP.  I spoke to Ruan at CWC and I think Janos at Evobikes.  After a few days, nothing.  Sensing a lack of customer care, I called Rush Sports who also had no stock and assures to call me back.  And so they did, within ten minutes with all the details.  They also tell me it can be couriered immediately from the agents.  I said, yes, go ahead.  I had the tracking number within the hour.  That's the service I like.  And still waiting for the other two to get back to me.

I have only had excellent service from CWC and Evo. Only one transaction at each, but no problems whatsoever.

Being a dick to someone that criticises your service levels is not going to endear you to many people around here.

I think you just lost a few customers.

Nolipoli, my intention was never to criticize  the customer.  I was mealy trying to find out what part it was that he inquires about as I cannot recall anybody calling regarding parts that Rush Sport stock.  I do apologize if some of you took it the wrong way.

Big case of Broken Telephone

Scudd complains, Evo replies with HI SUCKY....  people get angry

Looks a Legitimate mistake on their side.....  but can see as how some can see it as Obnoxious

Perhaps you confused the OP's hub name and the first word of the topic title?

Bad taste you have there...you dont know them but you feel it it is ok to pass judgement?

Can you read? Go back and see how Evo-bikes addressed the OP in their reply. It's a direct insult.

Edit: we all make judgements every day. I reserve my right to do the same.

Rush arranged the order from Coolheat and did so in an expeditious and client-centric manner.  The part in question was a 10 speed DA Di2 FD.  You should remember it well since we had a little discussion about it.

Sometimes this place makes my head hurt.

A shop doesn't get back to you one time - one flippin' time - and now they're so sucky you have to start a thread about it?

I pity the poor buggers who gave the superb service - it's only a matter of time before they do something that doesn't meet with the OP's idea of customer service.

And then there'll be another thread about how dissapointed he is with them.

Not fulfilling your promises to a client is unacceptable, period!

And you have never slipped up in a similar matter?

What would it have cost you to pick up the phone again, probably to get a sorry, I forgot, and most probably, as I know Evo Bikes, a better price, because they made a mistake by forgetting to call you back...

Actually. All you're doing here is dragging these two shops names through the mud. At no point, since this thread started, have you actually tried to resolve this. One missed phone call, from 2 of the most popular shops on TheHub, and you want to name and shame. Nah bru...

The customer is not always right, but the customer is always the customer. And in this case...you're a bit petty.

Guys its really this simple.

In retail you cannot be granted the luxury of one mistake.

The mistake has cost the shop a sale.

They are in the business of selling.

Perhaps ALL retailer (regardless of how good) can learn a lesson in this. If you say you will call back, then call back.

I would also take my business elsewhere if no one called me back.

I agree that the shop made a mistake, and are not a bunch of bad guys or anything, but in retail you cannot afford to lose 1 customer. Times are tough
