nathrix Posted October 23, 2014 Share I have to agree.Every year it is getting more insane.!! When will they stop?? This year's total distance is +- 250kms shorter and +- 2000m less climbing compared to 2008. You also rode from town to town, so carrying your bags to a new tent after a hard day on the bike and again to the truck in the mornings on each stage was a drain. You also didn't have all the technical, nutritional and training benefits back then compared to what we have available today. 2008 Absa Cape Epic: 28 March to 5 April. 966km & 18529m climbing, from Knysna to Lourensford, including first prologue time trial. 1200 riders, 29% international and 41 countries represented. Winners: Roel Paulissen & Jakob Fuglsang.
