Another question seeing as it looks like we will be staying in Steytlerville on the Friday night (as the caravan in Willowmore seems to have blown away, don't ask).

Anyway

Where the *&^! is Steytlerville?

....I mean

I saw on a mail from the organizers that you can load your boxes and hand them in on the Friday afternoon - did anyone do this or see this?

Thanks

We stayed in Steytlerville - wouldn't be my first choice (we were a bit slow in booking accomodation) but it worked out ok, about 50 minute drive to Willowmore (of which about 40km is on a weird strip / gravel road which I found scary)

You can hand in all your boxes on Friday, saw people do this. I also saw a bakkie being loaded with Checkpoint 4 boxes on Saturday morning - although I wouldn't recommend depending on it...

Yeah - it looks awesome on the start line having a nice low number, like 6, but it kinda sucks when you're going backwards from there on!.

And oh yes, I know THAT feeling.

Not nice for sure!!!

Boxes for CP4 must be handed in before 21:00 on Friday night at Registration, as the truck leaces very early to Bergplaas. You can hand in your boxes for CP2.3 before 09:00 at the Engen Garage in main road on Saterday morning. All boxes have your race nr on it. I kept box 2 with me, used it to put our stuff in for CP5. Handed it in on Sunday morning before 09:00 at the Mall when I collected our stuff that was left in CP3,4. Wet clothes, etc. Boxes work like a charm, very well organised bunch of friendly people.

What Carmichael said... I assume the bakkie was for the few okes who didn't read the rules or got delayed on Friday - which is why I say don't rely on it...

Lucky for you.

Teams going through this weekend please make sure that the back up driver knows what to do as it could result in a time penalty. Download the rules before you leave your homes. It makes things easier for the rider, who can just focus on the ride and leave the logistics to the back up driver.

Good luck and see you there.

THE DAISIES ARE ON THEIR WAY. :w00t:   :w00t:

oh, dont bother following the signs on the last 10km that takes you through the singletrack. the singletrack is only 300m longer than taking the tarred road and you wont get disqualified or penalised because its not in the race rules or UCI sanctioned! happy days

If you REALLY want the file I can mail my garmin file to you

Coming from the PE/GEORGE (whatever) side of Willowmore on the N9. Pass Willowmore, turn right on the R329. It's a weird single lane concrete road most of the way.

Hi All. Is there perhaps anyone that can assist me with a lift from either PE or Jbay to Willowmore on Friday afternoon. I was supposed to leave with mates tomorrow morning however need to stay in Joburg for work. I will not have any baggage or bike stuff. I will send that with my mates. Any chance of a lift. Can pay

Quick question; is there a bike pound at registration? We need to drop our bikes in Willowmore on Friday. Staying about 40km out of Willowmore and won't be able to take the bikes back and forth.

No I don't think there is. I might be wrong though. Might have leave it with somebody you know who are staying in Willomore.
