I bought an Anthem 29er a year ago and this morning the frame (aluminium) broke - the top tube where it meets the seat post tube. With the Anthem the top tube is very narrow/small at that point. I've put about 5000km on the bike. Has this happened to anyone else? Can the Anthem be trusted for a long stage race? I'm doing had joberg2c next year and don't want to DNF due to a broken frame.

Wow that's strange, they are usually as tough as they come. I have not personally owned one but have mates that have had theirs for ages and the do stage races throughout the whole year with no issues as yet. Can u post a pic?

This was a problem with anthems about 3 models ago. Is yours a 2013? It's usually related to seatpost being out too far.

I can't agree with it being weak. I ride mine plenty hard, and it's rock solid.

Just had it happen to me on my 2013 Anthem.  As long as you have your proof of purchase as the first owner they should replace it.  Got mine replaced within a week.

Had the same happen to two of my Anthems. I believe it is a problem with the weld. At least Dragons are pretty good at sorting the warranty replacements.

Bad luck bud, Sorry. Get it exchanged, maybe get a better size so you don't have to run post so far out? Whatever you do, don't buy a Spez mtb.
