I really enjoyed the 40km event. The event ran smoothly and the course was as advertised.

The vibe on route was great. People were friendly. Riders who had gone down or were suffering mechanicals were immediately offered support, I saw tubes and bombs being donated without hesitation. Riders were also very aware of holding each other up and politely pulled aside when safe to do so. The last few events I rode at the end of 2014 lacked much of this.

Alban Lakata took the win. His Canyon

What a race, everything was absolutely perfect. Route markings were fantastic, registration, seeding etc. Perfectly organised race, I cannot complain about a single thing. Just wish other races could be this perfect. Thanks to all the sponsors and organisers, fantastic day on the bike. Was flippen tough, but so nice to see all the pros after the race. Def be back next year, maybe try the ultra

I see the map on the advendurance website was wrong. It says nothing about going up malanshoogte(I think that is the name of the road) via the tar road. Anybody else noticed that? wonder why they changed it?

Did the 70, besides the short tar road climb the route was brilliant. I don't get out to that area often enough but when I do I am always seriously impressed with the quality of the trails. Cramping hit my hammies half way up the last big climb up the back end of Dorstberg- was glad to make it home in one piece. Saw two guys run out of talent on switchbacks, I stopped and checked that they were fine but always entertaining to watch.

Failed 107. Pulled out at 70. Well done everyone. Brilliant race. No power. Very upset. Well done.

UB40......Red, red Wiiiiiine (too much of that the night before is the only thing that will stop an endurance jugganaught like you!!)
