Also not sure about the two that took that much time off Nico. And the suggested winner would not only have beaten Nico by 20min but also Alban Lakata (who won the UCI Ultra) by about 5min. Alban completed the 70km Strava segment in about 3:03h

I saw today that some of the routre went through Contermanskloof. Bit peeved that guys ride and drop their gel packets on the trail. Just stick em in your pockets....

Back in JHB, what a lekker ride! Better than Sabie or Clarens in my humble opinion, well worth the effort to get there

how much did our pebbles and small bumps (we call hills) bore you?

Are you fully prepared to take on the Spruit now?

Dammit, I expected tales of misery and heroics on this thread... I am clearly out of my depth even though I ride those a lot! :) other than one non-finisher it seems everyone just lapped it up :) well done, okes

Being my first time riding on your Cape Trails, I tool a long close look at the route, the Spruit is way higher than your little nipples.  You guys need to come to terms with that.

You Capies must be fast though, every uphill corner had a berm, then the bench at the top of the climbs is a BRILLIANT idea, added about 1 hour to my time, the views where almost perfect, trim some of the weeds and keep your gel packets in your pocket and the view would be perfect.

Pebbles, well now, I did see a few, but sorry you guys do not have ROCKS, come up to JHB for SA Champs at Van Galens and we will show you rocks.

enjoyed every second of the event, you guys are very lucky to have all that on your doorstep

We export all our big rocks to the less fortunate provinces, so you saw the ones we had left.

Sorry for the massive disappointment.

Had a lekker 40km ride.

Did not go out to kill myself, but as we normaly are not allowed to cycle up the concrete road to Bloemendal Restaurant, made the most of it and put in a bit of effort. Cruised after that again.

Stopped and helped a fellow rider from Pretoria to repair her broken chain (on that litte flat section just before cresting the Mast) and escorted her in from there (there was two quicklinks on her chain already from previous repairs)

Bit disapointed in the small amount of Single Track we had, but at least we got to bomb it down the bit we had, as at that stage there were not many cyclist left around us.

Had a good day out, company was brilliant, weather was good, organisation was good, finished in time to see Alban come in. . NO VALID REASON TO COMPLAIN THEN.

Well done to the Orgs and everybody that was working very hard behind closed doors to get this race organised.

So apparently some of the Ultra guys took a short cut somewhere along the way not intentional of course, can anyone confirm their Ultra distances? Garmin says i got 100km & Strava says 102km but I followed all arrows for the Ultra.I was an hour late for this race so virtually rode on my own the entire route except where i was overtaking some of the Ultra back markers.

Advertised distance was 105km but with Kliprug out i was expecting 95km only.
