Best cruise evvvaaaaa

Couple of grumpy roadies

We were on SS mountain bikes apparently they don't like SS passing on the climbs

BOGUS I must have sent you 200 guys wanting my ritchey martini paint job

One or two beers( ;) )

Good chow, lots of *** praat

We got stuck at a pub at 80 km (mechanical ;) )

In our defence we did ride to the race

GOOD FUN waaaayyyyy to many SERIAAAAAS "cyclists/podium contenders out there

Took a bit of persuading, but Eddy can now change his hub id to NotFast Eddy... nothing to do with his riding, but his woollies shopping in Rosebank...

There are two ways of doing the 94.7:

You drive the 36 km to the start and as you have an 06hsomething start you can get there, do a gentle 3h15 ride on your road bike sitting in a bunch, drive home for a late breakfast.

OR

You do it on your MTB;

With Nobbly Nics on;

built as a SS;

With a silly ratio so you have to work to get on top of the gear up every hill;

Ride the 36km to the start;

Hang around until 10h00 so you can ride in the heat of the day;

Realize you only have 1 bottle;

Stop and have a Tequila. Have one more. And another one;

Politely ask the tannie I am passing up the last hill to hold her line;

Get told to **** off;

Finish the race;

Grab a cold coke;

Cycle the 36km home;

Arrive home at 16h00;

Have a shower, beer and take my dog for a walk.

Sorry guys i never made it to the second lap.

I had a fall in ghandi square that was caused by a local crossing the road. I managed to miss him but then couldnt keep the bike up right.

That was it i went down and hard.

My handlebar snapped in half and i am bruised all over.

I finished the ride with my half a bar and only front brakes and shifters as i wasnt gonna sit around town and wait for the sweepers.

Next time guys i will be in the booze cruize

RESPECT. I always wonder whether I could have been so tough. I hope I never have to find out. Hang tough.
