Other than this... anything useful to add?

Yes, a bit of salt in the water bottle also works.

But other than that..............nothing.

If I can think of anything I will get back to you .

Wat is daai, gerald'?

Did I miss some info somewhere?

Magic water - remember the old days of rugby players drinking magic water and eating naartjies at half time? That's what I hope it will do for me.

On a serious note - it's eletewater - going to give it a try.

Edit: I kept it in the bubble wrap just to add some drama. Wyatt Earp picked up on it, means he's on the ball, today.

The problem with any PED's is that there is no accountability at schoolboy level. There was a story recently about some schoolboy rugby players being caught and their fine/penalty was that they were off for 3 months. Then there are the schools that refuse to test.

My theory is that if you are caught at this level then you are banned from the sport until such a point that you can no longer be competitive - so a ban until you are 25 as an example. The risk will then not be worth the immediate reward

What's this got to do with amateurs you ask. Well schoolboy PED's is rampant, so if this was not the case then it would not be so blase' for these same schoolboys to do it later in life as amteurs or even pro's

There is so much red tape to get kids tested thats it not worth it...

A lot of channels and permissions to go through...

There is actually a group of people that are trying to get a law passed now that to participate in school sports on a certain level routine testing must be done...

Intriguing thing this PED's, especially in the lower rank riders.

I know for a fact that if I ever get tested that will ban me for life (!) from every pharmacy in the country, let alone the rides I enter.

I suffer from loads of aches and pains, take this for the knee ache, take that for this allergy, swalllow this for the headache, drink that for the hangover, just drink some more for the hangover. BUT, is what I am doing cheating ? Yes, it might mean I rob someone of 21456 place, as the "drink mix" helped me finish. So do I really care that some bloke in group D 2100 odd places in front of me cheated by taking some PED, hell no, who cares!

So when do I start to care? When the guy in first place cheats? Or the guy in tenth place? I dont know, its been one of those days where the plane went over at about 07H30. Its time for another glass of fermented grapejuice laced with things I am sure will make the IDT ride better a bit later, but I might not remember in the morning :)

For substances like Testosterone and HGH to work, you actually have to do some training. It's not like take a jab and go faster. Not saying it's right but it's not as simple as some make it out to be. Many of the older guys get prescribed testosterone for real medical reasons.

You will see that as you age the aches n pains get worse and I get why the average joe feels the need to take something for those aches n pains to help him finish.

IMO the best feeling is finishing an event, knowing that you did it on your own without swallowing a magic pill.

As if we need more drama in the murky waters of cycling

We all want to see the competitors get faster and stronger..... It's in our nature, sportsmen/women are our modern day gladiators. And some of us want a taste of that glory and victory too. I'm not saying I condone the use of PED's, just a point to ponder: If there were a drug-free Olympic Games and a PED Olympic Games, which would receive the most viewership?

Sorry, wasn't intended to come across that way. It was my dry humour, hence the comment of "drug free"... read: 100% legal

Some okes in gym wear track pants because they only train the muscle groups above the waist. They don't have legs, or calfs and look like cobras.

What the youngsters don't realise or care (know) about is if you take roids before they fully grown/developed, it screws around with their hormones.

It could lead to depression and a host of other not so nice side effects.

The roids is NOT a replacement for training.

You don't take roids, eat a chicken and fish diet and then go sit in the sun wait for the muscles to pop out.
