I have owned 6 Momsens, three of which carbon, and I haven't had a single issue on any of them. 2 of those are still around and going strong.

I have never physically met anyone who's had an issue on his / her frame. Only ever heard of a guy who knows a guy. Not saying it's never happened.

I had a Momsen SL929 and not long after I sold it the bottlecage mounts/rivets broke out of the frame.

Not saying I don't believe you, but I've seen that you tout the Momsen brand hard on thehub.

Maybe you've just had really good luck.

Yip, they have a reputation of not being the best after sales service agents out there.

Here's my STR Momsen frame. Look how skew the rear bottle cage rivnuts is on the frame. attachicon.gifMomsen 2.jpg

They replaced the frame for me and guess what, the second one was precisely the same. Got a call from our local Momsen agent and he told me that every single one of the STR frames they have in stock is the same and they can refund me as it's not worth the trouble for them to send it back to their suppliers.

So basically they told me that they are going to continue selling these frames as if nothing is wrong and I was the first person ever to have a problem with this.

With my own eyes I have seen 2 broken Vipas. Chainstays, on both. I had a Sl 929, broke after one month. Had no confidence in the bike after that, sold it, got a Spaz, never had a broken frame since. Touch wood.

Have worked on a couple of Vipa's over the past months and also some of the carbon hard tails and to be honest all damages was caused due to operator error. Sure there will be one breaking here and there but so does any other brand. Id go as far as to say that i have seen more broken Spaz frames than Momsens  :whistling:

All bikes break, for sure. Some more than others.

when you say operator error do you mean as a result of people fiddling or people falling?

Falling and general abuse. Carbon seldom breaks when you are merrily riding along.

looks like we should start one for broken Momsens. ;)

I will have 2 entries.

You would know of my damage, the last one was definitely user error but the first was a rock flung up against the chainstay.
