If that is who I suspect it is, he never wears a helmet.

And his training group also does not stop at Stop Streets or Red Traffic Lights. Did two rides with them, and after the 2nd ride confirmed that this is the way they ride, I never rode with them again.

It's his life. He is not compromising anyone else so let him exercise his freedom of choice. Do you also get tense when someone drinks alcohol or hanglides or rides a horse.......alll potentially dangerous activities. Enough rules already, just live your life and stop worrying about others If there actions don't impact on you.

Now that I think about it, there were 6 youngsters in our group between the ages of 14 and 16; so his actions could have an impact. We'll just have to re-inforce the importance of wearing a helmet when we next speak to them. As much as we don't always want to hear it but our actions do have an influence on the youngsters and noobs in our sport.

That blerrie cycling cap doesn't even match the rest of the kit or the bike...

Now that upsets me.

  only managed to read up till this post.

I'll wait till a report of miscreant behaviour comes in.

Hey Nutty, why didn't you take a better photo of me pacing the bunch? :whistling:

He's obviously got a very good reason to ride helmet-less....

1. He might be recently divorced

2. He might have a death wish

3. He might have a titanium dome

4. He might be superman

5. He might be a psychic

6. He might be a statistician

7. He might have a very good guardian angel.

He might not like helmet hair

I now work in Haute-Normandie in France. You will see people without helmets everywhere on organised cycling group rides! For the winter its just siht to wear a beanie under your helmet.

So not that big deal. . .

IMHO, ( Excuse the pun here ) but i take my hat off to the guy. This guy looks to be quite the age, and probably been racing bikes since i was still running around in nappies ( and not the diaper type - those came after :whistling: ).

As a roadie and mountain biker I've had a few falls due to third parties and some not ( on the mountain ) but fortunately i've never hit my head. I have however heard of more riders having to have hip replacements and casts for broken arms and legs. Having said this i guess a thigh pad or knee and elbow guards are almost equally as important as helmets. So maybe we should all take a stand and starting wearing our cricket gear when cycling..

Leave the poor guy alone!!

Always pleasant to see a senior citizen strutting his stuff.( Unless his passing me  )

What a ridiculous comparison.

How on earth can you compare a broken arm with a fractured skull.

Are you going to patrol the club cricket grounds this weekend and take snaps of batsmen not wearing helmets too? Surely its none of your business as this does not impact you in any way. If you've been to Europe you will find surprisingly few people wearing helmets on their commutes. No one stops to take pics and moan about it on a forum.
