I had to use tube to seat one side of a RoRo on the Wide Lightning rims, after that I had to use garage pump to seat the other bead, I'm am a noob though with tubeless setup as this is the 1st one I did.

Haven't found a tyre that won't seat with a floor pump and some liquid soap on the bead. Only in one case did I have to remove the valve core.

Try some crappy rims. You'll be surprised how much fun it can be.

OP - flippen bright idea. Good work. And incidentally, the correct term for your 12 bar pressure test is 'the dutchman bomb', and it's been performed many times in the support village at the Epic. Usually around 2am.

just out of interest, how do you test 12bar...don't most floor pumps only go to 10?!

100% That's where the soap starts to help.... Getting the tyre over the rim, and then helping to inflate. Are you in jhb? Bring it over. [emoji6]

I agree, soap on beads is required, without it the tire sticks to the tubeless tape inside the rim.

But for me it will be the tube trick, and I hear specialized tires are the easiest ones to get seated apparently.

Specialized tyres on a Crest rim seat if you just look at them long enough.

You dont ride tubbies or track I take it.

My floor pump goes up to 14 bar.

My shock pump goes up to 600psi.

They normally go to 300psi cause you dont need more than that ... but I have special needs!

thanks for the tip, but i'll pass.  with my luck, I will blow up the compressor, pump, tyre, bike and anything else within a 20m radius.
