Skylark Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 So how do you stop the water tasting like plastic from a Camelbak? My Camelbak wasn't used for quite a while before I put it back in service, does the plastic taste get worse as they age? I'm going to try a bit of lemon juice in the water but I'd like to just get the plastic flavour out. Have tried washing it out properly, good soak in a mild solution of bleach, all to no avail

And yes there are still a few places in Africa where they have not seen a TV let alone something as simple as a light bulb. The things we take for granted and sometimes even overlook is all new and scary to some tribes on this stunning continent of ours.

Rinse and voila no more plastic taste.Yeah right! 'Cos all you can taste now is stale pi$$. It masks that faint plastic odour remarkably well. ???????? Seriously though....this is potentially much more unhealthy than the plasticisers responsible for the 'plastic' taste.
