Did some "work" for a company in Africa and we used to urinate in the plastic bottles we received. Leave in the sun a bit filled with urine. Rinse and voila no more plastic taste.

LOL! Sorry to have to be the one to break it to you, but your mates just took the piss out of you by getting you to do that! Did you check their bottles? No, you didn't! You would have found their ones tasting like weak tea!

You get tablets to clean it, cape union mart sell them.

Apparently those are just about identical to denture cleaning tablets just 4 times the price.

I usually just add a couple table spoons of salt, then fill up with piping hot water, leave it closed for a couple min and then empty it via the mouthpiece... Rinse a couple times, then it's perfect.

You move liquid from one bladder to another and expect it not to taste like bladder?

I enquired about the tabs after I inadvertently started a small science experiment in mine.... I was advised by a Camelbak dealer to just use Milton. Been using it ever since. Mix as advised. I use a litre. Squeeze out all the air via the mouth piece and leave it overnight. No more funky tastes or smells. Keep the bladder in the fridge in a Ziplock bag when not in use. Never had another experiment. My bladder is almost 8 years old.

Miltons is a winner!

Some also use a bent/shaped clothes hanger to keep the bladder open (with lid off) when not in use. Helps with limited fridge space and the wife also oddly calmed down when I tried this tip.

Hmmm...

Fill your camelbak with whisky.

No more water, ergo, no more plastic tasting water.

No more pain when you fall

No worrying about, well, anything

The upside is massive.
