Hardest I can inflate 29er tubeless for road ride?

Obviously there's debate as to what pressure is optimal for riding my 29er on the road - but what is the highest pressure I can safely inflate to, before I risk blowing them off?

Depends on the tyre. Should have max pressure printed on the sidewall. But you really shouldn't need to go higher than 2.2 bar.

It's actually the rim that's the weakest link. Most rims can't take more than 3-4 bar.

I would be careful playing a game of roulette with tubeless high pressures.

A chap I saw on 947 obviously went a tad too hard and what ensued was the biggest and loudest blowout I have ever seen.... a bit of poo came out.

Did a road ride on my mtb recently at around 2.8 to 3 bar...definitely faster than normal trail riding pressures. If doing it regularly it will wear your offroad tyres fast...consider a tyre more suited.

Depends on the tyre and cross mark you can run at 3.5-4

Ah ok - I thought those ratings only applied with tubes...

Non tubeless tyres will have one rating on the sidewall and tyres that has printed tubeless ready or tubeless will have their own rating printed.

don't pump them too hard, making them crazy hard will just make the ride harsh and not really make you faster at all, 2.2-2.5 should be perfect.... harder than that the it feels like it causes more rolling resistance due to the tread..
