Edition 507

Is Jozi Hustle simply an excuse to ride like a really, really, really awesome & cool guy?

It is so AWESOME to ride on the pavement and up one-ways and without regard for safety or rules...WHERE do I sign up?

.

PS: do we start the collection for the funeral costs now or later?

I find it fascinating, in the same light I find diving with great whites fascinating.

Or those freeclimbers that has no belay

Wingsuit flyers?

Superbike riders, speeding through traffic

People driving well above the speed limit on the highway.

Kamikazee pilots

BASE Jumpers

Lawn dart players.

Snake wranglers

The circus dudes sticking their heads in lion's mouth.

"walking with lions"

I have no issue with people taking what I believe to be crazy risks for the sake of enjoyment, that's human nature, just don't put others (pedestrians in this case) at risk in the process.

...so edgy, so non-mainstream, so... do you need a beard to enter?  It's amazing the efforts people will expend to try to make themselves feel dismissively better than others.  Self-validation through a false sense of superiority - sad.  Like the selfie generation.  This hipster fad is getting lame, and yes, you all DO look the same.  Deal with it.

The fun part is when they get their panties in a bunch when people make valid observations.  They resort to playground arguments like "Ja, but YOU also did stoopid stuffs like talk on self-fone, so nananana"  Really?  Come on guys, ride like pillocks - your choice, but don't expect everyone to be in awe.  Most people think you're just being d1ck$.  Grow some thicker skin if you are going to put yourselves out there, just like Kim Kardashian.

I guess none of the riders have responded because they all work on typewriters - pc's/laptops are too mainstream.

I am one of the riders and have responded where I felt it deemed necessary. I for one understand why very few of you like it. But whether you like it or not, condone it or not, aprove or not, I realy don't care. I ride it, enjoy it and take the risks I feel is within my limits. I don't ride up one ways, in the video the rider is shown going against traffic, but that was his choice to ride on the righthand side. But in the end the b!tching and moaning on the critics side and the justification on the other side will not effect me. So a response is not always worth it

Your risk yes, our image and reputation.

We can thank all of you for not helping the cause.

The riding in the video goes against everything this sticker stands for: https://www.facebook.com/cyclistsstayalive

I think even the folks against it also really don't care to be honest.

Sure they are flapping their gums in protest, but they don't care, it's not their coffin that would need a polish .

Cool story, bro. Just keep that rebellious spirit in mind when you're getting your face bashed in by those "pedestrians" you guys like to play chicken with. Just remember, you're on their turf, not the other way around.

Edit: As Wyatt said, I'm not concerned for your safety, but rather the way your actions might affect others.

This is the nail on the head, too busy thinking how cool you are that you think the people posting on this thread give a damn about you... man.. how shallow.

I’m concerned that one day I might be commuting and some dude you tools cut off and pissed off sees me and runs me off the road... "because I'm just a damn cyclist who thinks he owns the road!"
