Oh: and anyone know what happened to Mr Kleinhans today? Not sure who came third so maybe he did...since was not first or second. He has some bad luck runs, seems to be happening again - mechanical in Dullstroom last Sat

Cameraman with the leaders said he was with the elite selection up until 30kms out when he got a flat.

How did it go at Dr Evil? In the groups I was riding, asked are you on bikehub, looking for fellow Hubbers, only got one bloke, but he left met behind.

Was muddy as hell, can't say that it was the most fun I've had ;)

Day 3 was nice though.

What were you wearing, besides mud? ;)

Matt Beers won in 3:12, which is cool for him cause his mom unfortunately passed recently.

Robyn won ladies again in 3:32

Times a bit slower, mostly due to Wapad being washed out from heavy rains.

I did Dr Evil leading up to this. Within 10mins of the race start I knew the last 4 days had taken it's toll and I was going to struggle.

Then on the big pass decent a guy took a tumble off the cliff right in front of me, I was the only one who stopped to help him, then decided that it wasn't worth it to race anymore and rode at my own pace, didn't time from there but think I came in at about 4hrs.

From the guys not stopping to help the poor dude who cartwheeled off the cliff to the guys screaming at each other to KEEP LEFT to the guys who sat on my wheel from Simola to the finish to then sprint the last 50m for 120th spot, I again realise that this thing about MTBers being chilled and friendly is a klomp ***!

Was chatting to a mate, when he does mtb races in France the organisation is completely different to here.. you pitch up and start when you are ready, so no bottlenecks cause there aren't hordes of people starting at the same time and it's frowned upon to be rude on the trails. . Now in SA the elite's won't be able to race unless us weekend warriors are there to fund the event.. but I love that idea.. let the racers start early and the rest start whenever they want to roll over the start line especially at the smaller events.. you get to enjoy the trails more. anyhow that's my opinion on the matter. And really does it really matter what your race time is or is it more important to have a good time (meaning hell that was lekker).

Great race weather yesterday. Wapad congestion killed me, just too many people walking to get past. I started in F group, so had loads of congestion.

Fun race though.  Challenging, but fun.

I may not be able to go up stairs for a day or two, or sit on my bike for a while...other than that, all good.

Next time I'm taking a bag for all the tools dropped!

Lost my timing chip somwhere in the second half of the race... sigh, anyone maybe stumbled upon it?

One of the water points had a container with various found items and I did see a timing chip, it was near the end.

Day 3 was nice though.

What were you wearing, besides mud? ;)

Day 1 was fine, were in black shorts and white shirt with old school CSC Bell Volt helmut. The white shirt is ruined.

Day 2 did not like, mud and rain to much, black shorts and black rain jacket. Was disappointed with Harkerville single track... Did we ride the whole route?

Day 3 was lekker, my mates had bike problems, team Zelco, so stopped to help them, were in my favourite shirt, Token, with few battle scars on, after the mud, only good for dustbin.

I found a chip just before Simola and the rider behind me stopped to pick it up. He said he would give it in at finish.

For me it was well organized, but a friend that has done it 8 times warned me starting from the G group we would walk Wa Pad and be blocked, so I didn't even take my GPS with and rode with 5 mates. Ended up waiting for one or two of them at every waterpoint and getting 2 punctures. Had a great laugh and some afchop. For me the huge event has never been something I like doing and now I realise once again why no not. I feel sorry for somebody trying for a good time with all the traffic.

Probably Jetline

haha, so it will be all on straights, flats and climbs... most action is facial expression when they take photos of anyone but the leaders.
