Also have a Rocket Ron on my front with AMC race wheelset and stans, no issue

There was a comment in another thread not so long ago of issues with the beading on tyres so would not seat/seal properly i.e. a crap batch, i cannot remember if that  was RR or not

thanks guys.

I will pull them off again , clean them up and put in more stans.

If that doesn't work I'm off for a new set of tyres tomorrow..

You don't need new tyres, just a bit of patience in the sealing process.

Make sure you do the horizontal swish and shake routine a few times then just ride them. They might loose a bit of pressure overnight between rides

Pin-hole leaks in the side of my tire

Stan's Sealant will fill all holes left in the tire from the manufacturing process. Some tires, especially lightweight tires may develop new pin holes in the side walls during the first week or two after inflation. It may be necessary to repeat the sealing process several times. Some tires may also have tiny rubber bubbles, often near the raised letting on the sidewall of the tire than need to be broken and sealed or they may pop overnight and leak air on their own.

Tire not holding air

Check for leaks with soap and water. Use a smooth sheen of soapy water as to not create suds, but allow the air leaks to create suds. Shake sealant to areas of the tire where soap bubbles occur. If using Stan's rims check the yellow tape for proper installment and any holes or cuts. If using a rim strip check the strip for proper installation and holes or cuts.

The snakeskin Schwable TL-Easy tyres I have sealed up one time, they went a little pap the day after the first fitting, then pumped them back up to pressure and that's it, they have held their pressure now for weeks.

Also had no problems with the snakeskin kind and the super gravity kind. The TLR ones took forever to stop sweating (days).

So before you waste more stans or other sealant make sure you not just wasting your time and money making them tubeless...

Well you have a great set of rims IMO. I run Mavic 819's and following your question about tyres I use Conti. Race King on the back and a Mountain King on the front with SlimePro sealant and I have not had a flat yet in 4 years! Nice thing about the slime is that it does not stick to everything making the clean up prior to a fresh application easy. Remember to smear a bit of vaseline to your valve to keep the slime from sealing it. I run 1.1 bar up front and between 1.1 and 1.2 in the back, I am a featherweight at 95 kg's.

How and where do you put the Vaseline on the valve ?

no, the protection version sucks and leaks through the sidewalls

as we all know, leaky rubber is always a recipe for disaster.

.

are you certain about the "protection" problems - I have read articles stating the same about normal conti rubber?

How are you inflating the tyres? If you are using CO2 bombs that could be the issue, if you dont have a compressor at your disposal(like most of us) bomb the tyres and let it seal as best possible, then release some air and pump with normal pump, repeat a few times to minimize the amount of CO2 in the tyre. Im not a pro so it is just a suggestion that sorted mine out after alot of failed efforts.

Maybe I'm just having  a bad run, but does anyone have advice for me.

I fitted rocket rons front and rear on mavic tubless rims, So far I havent got one ride without a flat...

I'v had both valves replaces, I'm running ALOT of stans, and even when I get a puncture the stans just seems to spray out and seems to battle to seal.

The wierd part is, I never have a thorn or object in the tyre, its almost like the tyres magically spring a leak..

Ive been using Stan's since 2001.

I've been on UST since 2001,

never had issues with either.

where are the leaks?

How long did the LBS let the tyres sit for?

How high did they pressurize the tyres to get the bead to adhere to the rim?

Are the tyres new or used?

What model Rocket Ron was fitted?

Do the valves have the o-ring seals fitted?

are the valve cores screwed in tight?

which model Mavic Rim is being used?

CO2 is not an issue. Using a CO2 bomb releases high pressure through a narrow orifice also known as a gas throttle. there is an enthalpy change across the throttle which drops the temp of the gas dramatically and that solidifies the sealant. If the valve is at the top and the sealant is at the bottom and the gas is released more slowly then this is less of an issue.

An Air compressor is best though but the throttling problem still exists so the trick to getting the tyre to inflate is too seat the tyre bead in the centre of the rim and pump fast or use the bomb sparingly.

yip, first hand experience. my current setup includes a raceking protection at the rear and it took about 3 weeks for the sealant to work its magic and stop the sidewalls from leaking, which you can see as the sealant forms little "sweat" beads along the sidewall.

I rate the Rocket Rons highly. My son uses them and he is heavy and very hard on the bike, no problems. Persevere with them and follow the advice the guys give here. It sounds like they are not properly installed. As long as it is a proper tubeless tire. I wouldn't bother without proper tubeless, it may or may not work.

They are rocket rons, and it says tubeless ready on the tyre.

The leaks are all over, pretty inconsistant

The tyres were brand new, and they are rocket ron, tubless ready..
