We got a group of mates looking into cross border stage races, MAURITIUS has cheap ones, I figure incorporate a holiday into it everyone is happy, couple extra grand mommy is happier too,

Instead of doing the same races over and over and complaining about how good they USED to be

Let's face it 9/10 times the first one was the most rewarding or the second one but I can only get so excited for sani now

That's just me ,,,,anyway we talking about wines now, as I said still on my list

Anybody knows what happens if you paid your entry fee, got onto the waiting list and then do not get an entry. Do you get a refund with interest? :whistling:

As far as I can remember, you cant pay upfront even if you are on the waiting list. The day entries open guys on the waiting list have the same oppertunity as previous years rides to enter. No priority. If you do enter and it  asks you for money, you are in. You just need to pay otherwise your entry becomes available to the pool again.

Ah, so you don't pay and then get on the waiting list?

Good, so I have till 02/03/2015 to get the fees together. (+5 days, give or take :whistling: )

Finally Dipslick, a post of you I agree with

Yes, if you want to follow the crowds and do the most popular races (over and over again for some) expect to pay the extra premium. There are a number of great stage races & mtb experiences out there without the big hype, trick is to find & ride the next sani2c/w2w cheaply before the big crowds discover them.

btw, my money is on the tankwa trek to be the next big one in the wc, bleak that I had to give up my entry this year.

there are soooo many races we over look, chasing entries, i havent used my sani entry for the last 2 years, there was injury but its simply not as important anymore, and ive seen the standards drop over the last couple of years,,,,,yes if its your first one it will still be impressed but if you have seen the races previously YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE A DECLINE IN ATTENTION TO DETAIL

I want to do W2W.

But it was too much moola for me last year, let alone this year.

If somebody wants to throw some sponsorship around, I'll be the one crying in the corner.

2013 - R4,200 per rider

2014 - R4,500 per rider

2015 - R5,500 per rider

WOW!!  Quite a steep increase (22%)  Why so much?
